The Spot.

Recently opened in 2024, a shared love of community and culture have converged in this Silverlake tapas restaurant, Bar Siesta. Reviving the restaurant that once housed the late and great Alimento, Heather Sperling of Botanica and Lucia Flors and Carlos Leiva of Siesta Co., a brand of organic, wild-sourced Spanish conservas, have teamed up to bring “a little piece of Spain to Silverlake.

Bar Siesta also houses a marketplace with the full line of Siesta Co. conservas and an array of artisanal Spanish pantry items, cheese and wine.

The Menu.

The all-Spanish beverage program highlights Spanish wine, vermouth, sherry and cider, while the tapas menu is rooted seasonal California produce while highlighting the relaxed culture of Spanish dining. Menu Highlights include:

Pimientos y Berenjena con Caña de Cabra Tapas - Weiser jimmy nardello peppers, preserved eggplant, goat cheese, and pimentón. 

Filete con Queso de Valdeón Tapas - Grilled hanger steak, Valdeón cheese, blistered guindillas, and chive oil.

Atún con Olivas - Spanish style sandwich on Bub & Grandma’s baguette, made with Siesto Co. white tuna, olives, guindillas, and aioli.

Almejas Blancas al Natural- White clams in brine, served with lemon, mojo verde and regañas crackers, packed in organic extra-virgin Spanish olive oil.
