Recently opened in 2024, a shared love of community and culture have converged in this Silverlake tapas restaurant, Bar Siesta. Reviving the restaurant that once housed the late and great Alimento, Heather Sperling of Botanica and Lucia Flors and Carlos Leiva of Siesta Co., a brand of organic, wild-sourced Spanish conservas, have teamed up to bring “a little piece of Spain to Silverlake.

The all-Spanish beverage program highlights Spanish wine, vermouth, sherry and cider, while the tapas menu is rooted seasonal California produce while highlighting the relaxed culture of Spanish dining. A few highlights are the “Tosta de Almejas” served with Siesta Co white clams, fennel, sofrita, aioli and Bub’s sourdough, and the “Pincho Moruno de Cordero” served with marinated and grilled Sonoma lamb loin and green garlic mojo verde.

Bar Siesta also houses a marketplace with the full line of Siesta Co. conservas and an array of artisanal Spanish pantry items, cheese and wine. Reserve through resy, walk ins are welcome and no reservations for lunch service. Open Thursday-Monday noon to 10pm, 11pm on Friday and Saturday night.
