Having opened in one of the most tumultuous times for the restaurant industry, Sōgo has several times since proved it’s popularity by successfully establishing it’s presence during a global pandemic and more recently, opening a second location in a nearby neighborhood, Highland Park. The intention behind Sōgo was to create a go-to sushi spot for all meals in the sushi-barren neighborhood, Los Feliz. With a laid-back approach the experience dining experience, a small, communal bar occupies most of the indoor space with a sidewalk patio available for dining as well.

Sōgo’s thoughtfully curated menu is comprised of starter dishes like the Salmon Sashimi and Yellow Cod, in addition to a wide variety of hand rolls and rice bowl dishes. Subject to market availability, you’ll often find the Spicy Tuna Roll served with kewpie mayo, ponzu, chili oil, scallion and masago, the Yellowtail Roll served with kewpie mayo, ponzu, scallion and masago, and the Lobster Roll served with kewpie mayo and lemon juice. Moving on to the Donburi section, Japanese rice bowl dishes, you’ll find options like the “Mixed Sakana” served with salmon, spicy tuna, albacore kari kari, rice, ginger, nori, cucumber, and sprouts, and the “Cucumber Avocado” served with cucumber, avocado, rice, ginger, nori, and sprouts.
