the spot.
Yet another pandemic opening, Grá and its Irish founder have once again proven the City of Angels to be the resilient and culinary inspired city we all know it to be. With a love for pizza and a gluten intolerance, owner Michael McSharry quickly became obsessed with the fermentation process around sourdough bread and it’s ability to provide the pizza experience he and others with similar intolerances could enjoy. The restaurant has a rustic “lived in” feel, matching that of his crackling sourdough crusts, and a shabby open kitchen, putting the wood fire pizza magic on display.
the menu.
With a “to the point” kind of menu, the offerings are simple and straightforward. With a handful of starter options like the Pickled Cucumber Salad, the stars of the show reside in the organic sourdough pizza section. Classic Pepperoni and Margherita are available, but if you’re feeling extra adventurous, try the “Kimchi Pizza”, served with tomato kimchi sauce, gouda, buffalo mozzarella, green onions, and sesame seeds, or the “Primavera Pizza”, served with stinging nettle puree, baby squash and blossoms, gouda, lime leaf oil, and tallegio.
